SBI Clerk 2018 Exam Syllabus

State Bank of India (SBI) recently commenced a Recruitment to enormous no. of posts (7200vacancies) of Junior Associates (Costumer Support & Sales) and Junior Agricultural Associates in Clerical Cadre. We know that candidates are applying in huge numbers for their dream job in SBI. So, obviously this competition is going to be a battle type for them. A minor slip-up may cause failure in this battle or competition. So, lets perceive the terms selection procedure, scheme and syllabus of SBI Clerk Exam 2018 from this article.
S E L E C T I O N P R O C E S S :
Phase-I : Preliminary Examination
Phase-II : Main Examination
Phase-III : Interview (subject to Indian Govt. approval)
Exam Pattern/Scheme of Exam
Preliminary Examination
► The online written test will be multiple choice objective type.
► There shall be a composite paper carrying 100 questions of total 100 marks.
► The duration of test will be 01:00 hour (60 minutes).
► This test would be consisting of 3 Sections as follows :

Main Examination
► This written test will also be objective type and online.
► There will be composite paper carrying 190 questions of total 200 marks.
► The composite duration of test will be 02:40 hours (160 minutes).

Note – There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

1. | General/Financial Awareness | Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, Banking, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture & Banking Sector. Some questions from Marketing can come in the exam. Questions related to Banking & Finance, various Initiatives, Schemes, Policies, Taxes & Duties etc. will also be asked. |
2. | English Language/ General English | Mainly Focus on the topics like Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Error, Sentence correction, fill in the blanks, Comprehension & Cloze Test etc. |
3. | Quantitative Aptitude/ Numerical Ability | Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused. |
4. | Reasoning Ability | Focus on Comprehensional Reasoning, Venn Diagrams, Number Series, Coding and de-coding, Problem Solving Techniques, Statement & Conclusion type questions, arithmetic reasoning, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, syllogistic reasoning, Seating Arrangements. |
5. | Computer Aptitude | Basic of Computers, Computer Organization, Generations of computer, Input & Output Device, Shortcuts & Basic knowledge MS word, MS Excel, MS power point, Memory Orientation, Internet, LAN, WAN, Modem, Computer Abbreviations, Modern day Technology. Remember short cut Tricks of MS Word, MS Excel & Computer Abbreviations. |
