About Exam:

All the Eligible Candidates Will face the Exam. The Date of Examination Will be Provided Soon on the Official Website of WBSETCL. After Written Exam Interview Will be Conducted. Both the Written Test and the Interview will be held in Kolkata only. More Details About the Exam is Provided Below.

Exam Pattern : The Exam pattern is given below:

• The Exam will be Objective type.
• The Exam Will be of 100 Marks/Questions.
• Question Paper Will be Divided into 04 Parts.
• There Will be a Negative Marking  of l (one) mark for every 3 (three) wrong answers.
• The Exam Will be Conducted in English Language.

Minimum Qualifying marks considering all parts in the MCQ Type Test:

40% for UR & OBC – A/B
35% for SC
30% for ST
30% for PH

Minimum Qualifying marks in English & Bengali / Nepali papers: For all posts, a candidate will have to score a minimum of 05 (five) out of allotted 20 Marks in Part C and D of the MCQ Type Test.

Exam Syllabus: The Exam Syllabus Will be as Follows:

Domain Marks: In this part, the knowledge of candidates in their relevant qualification and trade will be tested.

General Aptitude: This part will carry questions to test the aptitude ability and intelligence of candidate. It will include verbal and visual reasoning, elementary mathematics, general knowledge, everyday science, current events, national and international importance, social and moral aptitude etc.

English Test: Passage, Preposition, Correction of sentences, active passive voice, direct indirect sentences, Verbs/Tense/Non Finites, Punctuation, Substituting phrasal verbs for expression, Synonyms and Antonyms, Use of adjective, Compound preposition, Determiners, Use of pronouns.

Bengali / Nepali Test: Mainly Focus on the topics like Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Error, Sentence correction, fill in the blanks, Comprehension & Cloze Test etc.
