Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited (LMRCL) has been set up by Government of Uttar Pradesh as a special Purpose Vehicle for implementation and operation of rail based Mass Rapid Transit System (Metro) in the capital city of Lucknow. It was incorporated as a Government company on 25th November 2013. The first Phase of the proposed Metro rail network is planned to consist of a North-South corridor from CCS Airport near Amausi to Munshi Pulia via Charbagh Railway Station and Hazratganj (22.878 km.), estimated to cost Rs 6,880 cr as completion cost.
